6:44 am - Peter Petrelli Picspam, Part 2
The Peter Petrelli is Pretty Picspam, Part 2. How's that for alliteration? *G* Once again, commentary from all the usual suspects, plus a few more. :-)

NO spoilers beyond Season 1.

I feel pretty, oh so pretty, and witty, and...Italian. NO Spoilers. )

7:58 pm - My Spoiler Policy, plus Heroes clips/pics
Item #1. As you will all have noticed, spoilers for Heroes are flying in thick and fast. I know a lot of you want to remain unspoiled, so I am setting out a clear spoiler policy for my journal.

  • The posts in my LJ will be divided into two categories: Spoilery, and Non-spoilery. These will be clearly marked, as described below.

  • The Spoilery posts will contain "SPOILERS" in the Subject, and all spoilers will be placed behind a cut tag. The tag will say "SPOILERS."

  • The Non-spoilery posts will be marked, "NO Spoilers," both in the body of the post and in any LJ-cuts.

  • None of the material in the Non-spoilery posts will contain spoilers in any way, shape, or form. That is:

    • All speculation will be based on material from Season 1 ONLY.

    • I will not give my reactions, or hopes, or hints, or guesses for any material about Season 2.

    • None of the comments will contain spoilers.

  • I intend to go spoiler-free at the end of August. This is my intention as of now--if that changes, I'll let you know.

I hope that makes everyone feel safer about clicking/reading/commenting here. *G*

Item #2.

Milo and Hayden hosted the rerun of "Homecoming" last night. If they get any cuter, I might die. Clips at YouTube. )

Item #3.

Two HoYay-tastic Petrelli pics, just because I love you: Behind the cut. )

8:27 pm - The very latest Heroes spoilers
Sorry guys. Part 2 of the Peter Petrelli picspam will have to wait (Part 1 is here), because my brain has been eaten by Heroes spoilers, which are coming in thick and fast.

We've had the latest NBC promo, the latest casting spoiler, and Kristin's latest spoiler chat at E!Online...

So, what do you want to talk about? XD

Heroes Season 2 spoilers and speculation. )

11:38 am - Heroes spoilers!
First of all, in case you missed it, I posted a picspam this morning. :D

OK, so The 2 spoilers everyone is talking about... )

7:32 am - Heroes Picspam!
Well, I promised you guys a picspam in my last post, so here it is! In 2 parts, no less. Don't want you to overdose. :D

You know, my love for the Petrellis, and Peter in particular, really took me by surprise. It isn't just the pretty factor, either--Mohinder was my main source of eye-candy in the first half of the season. But somewhere around the Homecoming/Six Months Ago/Fallout arc, I just completely lost my heart to Peter--whether he's being sweet, dorky, manipulative, or ridiculously earnest.

Of course, the prettiness does help. XD So anyway, I thought I'd just do a little picspam of the most gorgeous shots of Peter I could find, from early in Season 1. The pics are pretty big. Usually I would scale them down, but the point of a picspam is to enjoy the pretty, yes? :D

The picspam also contains commentary from some people who will be very familiar to all of you...Think of it as a trip down my fandom memory lane. XD

Peter Petrelli: Too goddamn pretty to die. )

1:40 am - Thoughts on the Heroes Season Finale
Hmm. My resolution to post less often is not going as well as it should, given that Heroes has eaten my brain. *sigh* The time may come when I am forced to post only once or twice a week: that time is not now. :-)

Let's talk Heroes meta! Rambling thoughts on Peter, and Peter vs. Sylar in the Season 1 finale, and probably of interest only to me, so feel free to skip if you're usually here for the picspams and HoYay goodness. I'll make up for the lack of goodies in this post next week. *G* Meanwhile, to tide you over until then, take at look at this Brokeback Petrellis trailer, which is both touching and very, very funny. The best part is that it's actually practically canon.

Thoughts on Peter, and Peter vs. Sylar, in Heroes 1x23: How to Stop an Exploding Man. Spoilers for whether or not Sylar and Peter are back in Season 2, but nothing beyond that. )

8:49 am - Milo dresses Adrian...
Your Heroes fix for the day.

  • Jenn1fer42 of the TWoP forums is officially my Hero.

Remember the E!News clip I talked about here where Adrian says Milo dresses him?

She's put it up online. here.

OMG. It's even better than I imagined. OMG.

    Thank you, Jenn1fer42!

  • Make sure to catch some form of Entertainment News this weekend (E!News, Daily 10, Entertainment Tonight) for some mention of Hot in Hollywood 2007. According to this report, Sendhil, Zach, one of the new cast members (don't look if you don't want to be spoiled), Jack Coleman, and James Kyson Lee will be there, and Milo will introduce them.

Milo and Sendhil on the same stage...be still my heart.

  • Exclusive footage of the It's a Mall World Premiere Party is up here at the American Eagle site. You can download or stream the files. Highlights:

Greg Grunberg: Thank you for hiring Milo Ventimiglia. Because he needs another job.

Adrian: Milo Ventimiglia is my Hero.

Also features Milo being all kinds of adorable.

  • And finally, not a media link, but stuff about my fannish activities: alas, summer vacation is winding down, and I'm getting quite a bit busier. So I will probably be posting less frequently from now on--say, once or twice a week instead of almost every day.

I have a couple of posts saved to my computer that will make you wonder anew at the heights my fannish obsession can reach, though. *G* But I'm going to post them at decently-spaced intervals, because if I unleashed them on you all at once you'd think I'd gone crazy. Or crazier than I already am, anyway. XD

ETA: This resolution is already being tested by recent developments in spoilers. :D The time will come when I am forced to post less often, but that time is not yet.

1:54 pm - Vid Review: "Desert Rose" by phoenixchilde, and Season 1 of Heroes
Remember how I told you all to watch Desert Rose, by [info]phoenixchilde? *G* Well, now that it's been shown at Vividcon (at the Newbies Rock! Vidshow), I'm going to ramble at length about Season 1 of Heroes, and how this vid influenced the way I watched the show, when I marathoned the eps this summer.

If you haven't watched the vid, go watch it now (I've given the link above), because it is absolutely FANTASTIC. Plus, I discuss it in great detail and you want to have the experience of watching it unspoiled before listening to me go on and on about it. :D

5:40 pm - Heroes stuff...
First of all, a rec: [info]jadeblood has posted an awesome behind-the-scenes Heroes picspam here in her journal. It features Milo and Adrian being very...Italian. :D

Secondly: I just watched What a Girl Wants, a movie starring Amanda Bynes and Colin Firth. For those of you who haven't seen or heard of the movie, the basic premise is this. Lord Henry Dashwood (Firth), the only son of an old, established English family, had a brief but passionate romance at the tender age of eighteen with a carefree American girl, Libby Reynolds, while he was on holiday. They fell in love and decided to get married. Henry's evil relatives, however, sent the girl packing, telling her that she would do Henry's career no good, and telling Henry after she had left that she'd never cared for him, and had led him on. Libby goes back to live in New York, leaving Henry in his estate in England.

What none of them knew was the Libby was already pregnant when she left. O.o

Fast-forward to 17 years later, when Daphne Reynolds (Bynes), Henry's daughter, decides to find her father for herself, as she's dreamed of meeting him ever since she was old enough to realize she had a dad. She hops on a plane to England and turns up at her biological father's home on the brink of an election, in which Henry is a prominent candidate.

Sound familiar? If you were wondering why I was going on about this movie, you're not wondering anymore, right? Anyway, let's see what Daphne finds at her dad's home.

Spoilers for 'What a Girl Wants' )

Thirdly: Apparently Adrian Pasdar has commented at his YouTube account, saying that he will have behind-the-scenes videos to post after the Heroes world tour.

Let me remind you that he is going on the tour with Milo.

*pauses to let the full meaning sink in*

Behind-the-scenes videos, you guys. Shot by Adrian Pasdar himself. Probably featuring Milo. ZOMG.

And some Heroes fic recs to round off the post:
Heroes fic recs: cut for length. )

2:30 pm - Non-spoilery Heroes Stuff
OK, so this is the Spoiler Free Post.

  • As I mentioned earlier, Hayden Panettiere had a press call yesterday. Bits of the interview were spoilery, but some bits were not, such as:

    • Hayden was asked, Who's going on the European leg of the World Tour?

She replied: It's me, Milo, Jack, and Adrian.

Aw. And Best. Combination. Ever. Petrellis + HRG? Wow. I'm so jealous of everyone who gets to see them. :-)

    • She was also asked: What was it like to work with all those prosthetics?

“It was Sticky.” Hayden said. “It's basically corn syrup, and red dye, and you can imagine what that does to your body after ten hours of working. It was most fun when me and Milo got to do it together, and got to get sticky together."

She does know that this quote is going to get misconstrued by all the shippers out there, right? :D

  • Starting next Monday, the Heroes cast will be hosting their favorite episodes on NBC. As I understand it, two of the cast members will host an ep, giving commentary during the commercial breaks and so on. There's a promo clip here.

From that clip, it looks like the pairings will be:

    • Ali and Adrian
    • Milo and Hayden
    • Sendhil and Zachary
    • Masi and James
    • Greg and Jack

Rumor has it that Milo and Hayden will be hosting "Homecoming" and "The Hard Part"! I think I just died and went to heaven. They really, really like pairing those two up, don't they? So cute. And I love that "Homecoming" is one of their favorites. I have a lot of affection for that one, because it was my tipping point, both for the show and for Peter Petrelli as a character.

OK, so as most of you know, the first official Heroes Season 2 NBC Preview is online!

12:40 pm - More Heroes Links
OK, another random media/article dump today:

  • The "Heroes: Unmasked" BBC episode I talked about in yesterday's entry is up, here. It is made of awesome.

If you can't play it at that site, it is also up at YouTube here (Part 1) and here (Part 2).

  • A few of the actors at Comic-Con, talking about Comic-Con and the upcoming Heroes Video Game, here.

You can see Milo signing Greg's T-Shirt, while Greg's still wearing it. So cute.

Greg and Zach hug, with romantic music playing in the background. Greg makes the funniest face afterwards.

Everyone says it's amazing and totally insane. :-)

James Kyson Lee on the video game: Every kid is like, "Dude, one day I will be in a video game." It's like a dream come true.

Zach: I just got a Wii. I have, like, Wii-Tennis-Elbow.

An Aside: Is it just me, or has activity on LJ decreased quite a bit in the past 2 weeks or so, after the entire LJ/6A fiasco began? Maybe I'm just being paranoid.

7:30 pm - Random Heroes Stuff
Random Heroes stuff...

NO Spoilers, so don't worry!
  • The BBC's Heroes: Unmasked - The Petrelli Edition. Cut for length. )

  • I rewatched a House episode last night where the patient was a girl who was insensitive to pain. (I'm hazy on the medical details, so forgive me. *g*) At first, you might think this is kind of cool, but it turns out that it is actually a huge pain in the neck, because the girl has to check herself over several times a day to make sure that she hasn't accidentally injured herself in any way.

For example, she has to check her corneas every morning to make sure she didn't scratch them in her sleep, she can't run anywhere without checking her toes to make sure she hasn't broken them, people can't hold her for too long in case she overheats, etc. etc.

And how does this relate to Heroes? )

  • Vid Rec: It's Raining Men, Heroes-style. Utterly, utterly hilarious and brilliant, and unusually well-done for a vid whose only point is that the men of Heroes are hot, and we are so, so lucky. XD

I think my favorite part is "Rearrange the sky."

12:32 pm - Nostalgia moments with the Trio in Deathly Hallows
I probably won't be posting anything in-depth about Harry Potter for a while, simply because I knew after finishing the book that I'd want to write a review, something about Ron, something about R/Hr, and something about the Trio, and this is the last of those posts. If you friended me for my HP essays, and start getting increasingly alarmed by the Heroes content *G*, feel free to defriend anytime. Every day is Defriending Amnesty Day over here. :-)

OK, now on to the Trio goodness.

'We're with you, whatever happens.' : Nostalgia moments with the Trio in Deathly Hallows. SPOILERS for Book 7. )

A note: I would like to point anyone who was upset/puzzled/annoyed by anything in the body of, or the comments to, my Ron/Hermione essay to this, which is a public apology from me to Harry/Ginny shippers. I've given the link to 2 or 3 people whom I knew were upset, but since I am new to the HP fandom on LJ I know there are a lot of people who will have missed it, so I wanted to give the link here, too.

And a final note: I would really appreciate it if anyone who wants to comment on either of the 2 entries linked above could do it there, instead of in the comments to this post. Thanks!

8:00 am - An open apology to Harry/Ginny shippers concerning my Ron/Hermione essay.
An open apology to Harry/Ginny shippers concerning my Ron/Hermione essay.

A few things have been going on in the Harry Potter fandom lately that have made me a bit uncomfortable about my Ron/Hermione essay, especially various discussions in [info]connielane's entry here, so I just wanted to swallow my pride and make a statement.

I'm sorry that so many people were hurt and/or offended by what I said about the way Harry/Ginny was written, and the scene with Harry, Ginny, Cho, and Luna in Deathly Hallows, both in the body of my essay and in the comments. The essay could have stood on its own without this point, and in retrospect, I wish I hadn't included it.

It is true that I prefer R/Hr to H/G, but I should have considered the feelings of H/G shippers before I clicked "Post." I should have remembered that not everyone shares my views, and expressed my opinions accordingly. The last part and the ETA were written in haste, and I know that to many of you it sounded condescending and dismissive. It quite likely is condescending and dismissive. I'm sorry that I didn't think harder and longer before posting it.

I did not intend to imply that anyone who responded negatively to my post was only overreacting, or misinterpreting what I had said. If what I wrote made you angry, or upset, or sad, that's your right, and it's your right to tell me that in whatever way you wish.

I would also like to make it clear that I am not criticizing anyone who did agree with my comments on Ginny, and said so in the comments. You're also entitled to your opinion, and I'm glad that you came over and gave it. Anything negative that came out of such discussions is entirely my fault for bringing the subject up in the first place.

The only excuse I have to offer is, that after a year or two away from the Harry Potter fandom, I'd forgotten how divisive and sensitive an issue shipping could be, and I was slightly overexcited after coming off the high of finishing the last book. I promise to be more considerate of others' feelings in the future.

Finally: to everyone who did comment on my essay, thank you for taking the time to let me know what you thought of it, for discussing the book with me, and for sharing your opinions on the book, the ships, and on me.

5:21 pm - Heroes stuff
Two random Heroes-related links.

  • For everyone grieving over the fact that we have yet to get a YouTube clip of the Adrian/Milo hug and kiss at the It's A Mall World premiere, try to console yourself with this HoYay-tastic moment from last year's Comic-Con. The vid also features some adorable moments from Noah Gray-Cabey.

  • A maddeningly uninformative and yet spoilery interview with Milo. I think the interviewer's an old friend.

By the way: thanks to everyone who answered my LJ Exodus Poll--and if you haven't, I'd really, really appreciate it if you would. :-)

7:39 pm - Heroes Season 2 Speculation
Speculation about Season 2! There will probably be spoilers in the comments, since this spec is based on an interview with Tim Kring soon after 1.20 "Five Years Gone" aired. There is also a tiny spoiler for Season 2, from Jack Coleman. Of course, spoilers for the entirety of Season 1.

Various speculations on my part for character interaction in Season 2 of Heroes. )

9:34 pm - Heroes Cast
Did anyone catch E!News yesterday? anna29 at the TWoP board posted this:

Also, on that E!News show before "Daily 10" there was a 30 seconds item about the "It's a Mall World" premiere. It showed Milo and Adrian hugging each other on the red carpet and Adrian kissing Milo (on the cheek).

Adrian says:

"Milo dresses me. I would be here wearing sweatshirt pants and a ragged shirt." Milo laughs. Adrian continued: "I'm serious. You think I'm kidding."

So: everyone who was speculating that Adrian and Milo shop together, you were right! *looks at [info]sparky77*

I did not manage to catch this *sniff*, and I will sell my soul to anyone who can point me to an online clip.

I did watch The Daily 10 on E!News last night. The #2 item was Comic-Con, and they showed quite a few clips of interviews with the Heroes cast. Highlights:
  • Greg introduced Hayden, who was then interviewed with Milo. The interviewer asked Milo what had changed in his life because of Heroes. Milo was pondering how to answer this question, but Hayden got there first: "Girls just flock. They flock. Not that they didn't before, but..."

She used the cutest hand gestures. Milo looked really embarrassed. Aww.

  • The interviewer asked Greg what he was doing, other than Heroes. Greg (in typical hyperactive Greg fashion) pointed out that he's happy just to be working on "the hottest show on TV!"

  • Zach Quinto was asked about playing Spock in the upcoming Star Trek movie. Masi Oka pointed out that Zach has trouble doing the split-fingered Vulcan greeting, and Zach said that he can do it with his left hand but not his right. Aw. Then he said he was gonna kill Masi using the Vulcan Death Grip for spilling his secret. Hee.

  • They interviewed James Kyson Lee, and asked him if he felt left out not having any powers. James said it would be really cool to have a totally random power, like the ability to turn people into utensils, so you could turn Sylar into a fork or something. Heh.

Cutest. Cast. EVER.

Also, an image that I found highly amusing (and I think quite a few of you will enjoy it, too): A picture is worth a thousand words...Cut for size. )
